Description

I experienced the encountering of different cultures as I traveled. When I’m exposed and introduced to an unfamiliar culture, I feel myself as an outsider. I’m thrilled to have intercultural communication with the locals, but at the same time I fear to unintentionally cause offense. I seek balance, accompanied by excitement, unsure, and sometimes loneliness. I visualize the experience and concerns through the means of typography, and carry out the series in a graphic presentation. The letters are symbols of individual of different cultural background, and by piling them in different composition, I created various scenarios where I posit myself as an outsider and seek for connection.
