Summer 2026 Brand Design Internship

Description

At Carta I worked with one brand system in two ways. As my internship capstone, I turned it into a company-wide social system: a Figma template library and a Claude Skill that anyone can use to make an on-brand post. At the same time, I stretched the brand across a wide range of mediums, from event booths and pins to podcast art, Wall Street Journal ads, and a launch video, treating it as a flexible, growing system rather than a fixed style guide.

Carta Social System

A Figma and Claude powered library. Internship capstone.

Social Template Library is a capstone project I built as a Brand Design Intern at Carta to fix a real bottleneck: static and carousel posts made up 25–40% of Carta's social content, each requiring four differently sized files with no shared system to keep them on-brand. I designed a Figma library of 304 templates across 76 components and 9 categories, ready to export in four formats, with an intuitive layer system so anyone can edit safely without breaking the design.

To push the workflow even further, I used Figma's MCP to build a custom Claude Skill that turns post creation into a simple, guided conversation. Anyone at the company, no design background required, can describe what they're posting and have Claude interview them, surface matching templates, and generate a finished, on-brand post on their own. Every post it creates lands in a review page where the brand team can quickly confirm it's on-brand. Together, these cut post production time from 2–4 days to about an hour.

Static posts and carousels make up 25–40% of B2B LinkedIn  content — at Carta, they're the most requested design format by volume.

Static posts and carousels alone generate ~8 design requests per month in 2026. Constantly recurring.

One post requires four files: LinkedIn Portrait (1080×1350), Square (1080×1080), Landscape (1920×1080), and X/Thread (1200×675).

Without a shared foundation, visual decisions vary  post to post  — and inconsistency builds faster than anyone notices

Claude Skill Application

Using Figma's MCP integration with Claude, I built a custom Claude Skill that turns social post creation into a simple, guided Q&A. Anyone on the team—regardless of design background—can now generate on-brand social graphics on their own, with each output routed to a review page where the brand team can quickly confirm brand compliance. This reduces the brand team's workload while making it far easier for the rest of the company to produce polished, on-brand content.
